UFC champion Nurmagomedov doesn’t think about sick father’s new fight | Right away
Khabib Nurmagomedov will not want to think about another UFC fight until his father’s and coach’s health has improved. Abdulmanhap Nurmagomedov has been in a critical condition in a Moscow hospital for more than a week.
Abdulmanhap Nurmagomedov, 57, is infected with the coronavirus and has underlying health problems. He underwent heart surgery last year and had to undergo a new operation last week due to coronary symptoms.
‘He’s in a bad condition. COVID-19 has worsened his health,” Khabib Nurmagomedov said in a statement Video on Instagram.
“I get a lot of support from people who are worried. I would therefore like to thank everyone for their messages and prayers. I hope you all stay healthy.”
The coronavirus has already killed many people in the immediate vicinity of the cage fighter from Dagestan. “More than twenty acquaintances of mine got infected and had to go to the intensive care unit. Unfortunately, some of them are no longer with us.”
Interim champion Gaethje suspects opponent Nurmagomedov
Due to the coronary crisis, Nurmagomedov is in home quarantine and had to cancel his planned participation in UFC 249. At this event, American Justin Gaethje won the intermediate title in the lightweight title last week.
The UFC plans to let Gaethje compete for the lightweight title in September, but the Russian doesn’t want to look that far ahead at the moment.
