Three new plant shops worth a stopover – Live

If you can’t go to the real jungle, can’t you just create an urban jungle at home? These three new plant valhallas will help you get started.

The Stek in Mechelen

Stek in Mechelen is a plant shop and a coffee bar in one. In the cosy seating and dining area, eternal doubters can relax before deciding which plant to take home. Founder Annelies Teck passes on her passion for plants through workshops. “I want to teach our customers how to cut plants themselves and take care of them.” Annelies Teck has an interest in the nature of a stranger: her mother also has her own flower shop. Soon it started tickling to start your own business. The opening of De Stek had to be postponed until June because of the coronary crisis, but is now a fact.

The Stek is open Tuesdayto Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday are rest days. Our-Lie-Vrouwestraat 28, Mechelen. More information on de-stek.com

Colombian Boho in Ghen

Tropical plants, dried flowers and handmade terracotta pots from Colombia: The Colombian boho in Ghen has everything a hipster heart desires. In this cosy plant shop, which is part of the Coffee Bar Teskaffee, you will find both banal and special tropical plants, which shed on site in the desired packaging. The flower pots are selected by founder Louis Demuynck and imported from Colombia. The terracotta material is the ideal shell for your plant as it allows both water and air to pass easily.

Columbian Boho is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Steendam 76, Gh. More information on colombianboho.com

Jungle Laboratory in Brussels

In Brussels, landscape architect Quentin Thibault has opened a multifunctional green building. Jungle Lab is both a plant shop and a clinic as a study office, but also serves as an art gallery and venue. You can logically buy plants there, but even if your own plants are at risk of a silent death, you can bring them in for a makeover. Don’t have green fingers, but do you still want green in the house? For this, Thibault has come up with an original solution: a plant wall with an automatic irrigation system. So you don’t have to water your plants yourself. Thibault comes to install the system in your home.

Jungle Lab, Waterloosesteenweg 475 in Elsene. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. More information on Facebook Or Instagram/Instagram
