PSV detains former Dutch captain Mandy van den Berg | Right away

Mandy van den Berg signed a two-year contract with PSV on Wednesday. The former Dutch captain recently left Valenca, Spain.

The 29-year-old Van den Berg is the second attractive reinforcement for the psv women’s team in a short time. In mid-May, the team took over from Dutch goalkeeper Sari van Veenendaal (30) from Atlético Madrid.

‘I’ve always wanted to be back in the Premier League. The only question was when and now this moment is here,” Van den Berg says on the website of Psv.

“I am very much looking forward to coming to the Netherlands after eight years and starting my new challenge. At PSV, there are all the prerequisites for being able to practice his sport professionally and to receive prizes,” says the 90-times national player.

PSV in the Champions League next season

PSV led the Women’s Premier League when the competition ended in March due to the Corona crisis. This will allow the team to participate in the Champions League next season.

Van den Berg started the 2017 European Championship as captain at home, but lost her starting place during this tournament. She struggled with her role as a deputy and later thanked her as an international.

Van den Berg came back to this by making himself available for the 2019 World Cup in France. However, due to an injury, she was not eligible for selection.

The central defender previously played for ADO Den Haag, Sweden’s Vitchö, Norwegian Lillestram and Liverpool and Reading in England before moving to Valencia in 2018. She barely played last season due to a serious injury.
