This news, Clare Waight Keller made it official herself on social media, this Friday, April 10, 2020. The 49-year-old British designer announced she was leaving Givenchy, where she became artistic director in 2017.

She writes in the caption of a black-and-white photo of herself in the workshop of the Haute Couture House: “After three great years, it’s time to finish my chapter in Givenchy. As the first woman to become artistic director of this legendary house, I am honored to have been given the opportunity to appreciate her legacy and live her new life.“

The Birmingham native also posted a video from the finale of Givenchy’s Autumn/Winter 2018 Haute Couture Show. The event took place on 1 July 2018 in Paris.
