Leader Cambuur versus Volendam, Almere City also spills points NOW

SC Cambuur suffered their third loss of the season in the Kitchen Champion Division on Friday evening. The league leaders lost 1-0 to FC Volendam in Leeuwarden. Number two Almere City FC also lost points at home against FC Eindhoven: 0-0.

The game between SC Cambuur and FC Volendam seemed to end 0-0, but with three minutes left, Samuele Mulattieri still gave the visitors the three points.

Because of the defeat, Cambuur ended a series of victories. The Frisians were last defeated on November 7th in the Kitchen Champion Division and then recorded eight league wins in a row.

Despite the loss, Cambuur remains in the lead. Almere City lost just one point due to the draw with FC Eindhoven and are now two points behind.

De Graafschap recovers against Telstar

In the early evening, De Graafschap recovered against Telstar (2: 0) from the sensitive defeat against rivals Almere City in the preliminary round. The Doetinchemmer were already up for halftime thanks to the goals of Joey Konings and captain Ralf Seuntjens, who found the net for the twelfth time this season.

Thanks to the victory, number three, De Graafschap, reduced the difference to Almere City to six points.

NEC-Excelsior and MVV-Jong FC Utrecht were played at the same time as De Graafschap-Telstar, and especially in Nijmegen there was a spectacle. In the middle it was 0-2, but after the break NEC still won 3-2, also because Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill of Excelsior turned red. Jordy Bruijn scored the winning goal with a penalty.

The changeable Jong FC Utrecht – they have won eight times, drawn once and lost ten times this season – led early at MVV and gave the last blow after the break. Odysseus Velanas and Jeredy Hilterman scored a goal.

NEC were 2-0 down against Excelsior, but still won.
