Guardiola ‘more than grateful’ for an impressive series of victories with City | NOW

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola can hardly believe what his team is doing right now. ‘The Citizens’ were too strong for Arsenal 1-0 on Sunday and recorded their eighteenth consecutive win in all competitions.

Guardiola feared City’s streak of victories against Arsenal could end because he has manager and compatriot Mikel Arteta very high. However, a hit from Raheem Sterling after 77 seconds was won again.

“It was just as difficult as I expected. It’s always difficult to play against Mikel Arteta because he’s so smart. I’ve learned a lot by watching his teams. That’s why I take this win very highly,” said Guardiola .

“People think it’s easy to win eighteen times in a row, but look around Europe: they’re all missing points. I really didn’t expect this consistency. I’m more than grateful for what my players are showing.”

The result at Emirates Stadium marked City’s thirteenth consecutive Premier League win, which appears to be fast on its way to the national title. The lead over rivals Manchester United has now been increased to ten points.

Guardiola’s team is also still in the running for the Champions League, the FA Cup and the League Cup. Borussia Mönchengladbach will be the opponent in the eighth final of the Champions League on Wednesday.
